Pricing

Whether you’re need a new website or just a small one time fix,
I’ve got you covered.

How much does a website cost?

Many agencies and freelancers won’t usually tell you how much a website will cost until you’ve given them a detailed scoping document outlining your new websites requirements.

Long story short, you can expect to pay between £2.000 – £5,000 (excl. VAT) for a bespoke, full-featured website built on a CMS like WordPress, Perch or Craft. This price will vary based on factors such as third-party API integrations, design complexity, advanced animations or functionality.

"Hey, but this is 2x, 3x, 10x times more expensive than what I've found on my local Gumtree..."

You are up for a thrill right? Yes, you can buy a pre-built website with a template for $29. Bear in mind however, that long term costs of maintenance of such website might be much higher. Also, it's very rare that pre-made templates would fit your needs in 100%. Alterations are very expensive or simply not feasible.

Quality assurance

This all may seem overpriced in comparison with some offers out there who will promise you a complete website build, delivery, re-branding and dry-cleaning of your favourite shirt. I've been doing it for 13 years. You can be sure I'll deliver, deliver on time with top notch quality. The process is transparent and so are all the costs. I'll be available for you at all the time during the development and I won't go missing without warning.

Still in doubt? See what others said about working with me.

A website for free?

Sure thing!

There are a plethora of options out there that can build your site for free. Checkout popular site builders like Wix and Squarespace or hosting companies like GoDaddy. But why would then pay someone if you can just do it by yourself you ask?

That’s just thing, can you? These site builders market themselves as easy to use and make claims about how quick it is to setup a website but as with everything else in life, there is a learning curve. Are you going to have the time, energy and resources needed to take a step away from running your business to learn these new skills and create something that’s actually going to do your business any good and actually generate leads?

For the vast majority of people the answer is no. Also they aren’t entirely free, you’ll still need to pay for advanced features and extras like web hosting.

How web design and development services are charged?

The price of the website is defined by the time the project will take and the complexity of work.

Pricing per hour

Typically, I do not charge on hourly basis for both mine and my clients benefit unless you are an agency or studio that needs a regular supply. For smaller engagements we can work out a fixed price per item.

Pricing per project

If you are up for something bigger or your budget is limited to a certain level, a fixed cost estimate can be arranged. Bear in mind however, that projects tend to evolve the longer they mature. Additional requests and diversions must be mutually agreed upon to see whether assigned budget is still relevant.

Small website with few pages a contact form, ability for you to edit texts and images can be completed within £1.000 - £2.000 (excl. VAT) budget.

A retainer

For long time engagements I prefer to set up a fixed price charged every month for particular volume of regularly rendered services. This relationship is convenient for both sides as it cuts down communication time, ensures a reliable source of technical help/focus on your project. The price tag here varies depending on your businesses individual needs.

It can be both applied for projects without a clear specification (agile approach to iterative development) or a maintenance scheme for existing websites or applications.

Extra costs to consider

Presented estimates exclude any extra expenses such as domain, hosting, SSL certificate, licenses etc. This is something I can provide or help with however it's always optional.

Giving back to the community

I'm always open to help others, especially charities, NGOs and individuals with honorable ideas for free (or a very small fee to cover any licensing costs). If you have a project in mind, get in touch and I'll see what we can do about it.

Hopefully the above has given you a little bit of insight into how much you should be paying for your website design. If you have a project you’d like to discuss feel free to email me, or to get a more concrete price on, get an estimate now.
